Just back from vacation, but I have to sit here and have a coffee and the last two Eagle Bay Donut shop donuts. I wrote a blog about those delicacies from a secret recipe we all have enjoyed for years. They come in two flavors, cinnamon and plain. They are best hot, and you can't eat just one, but are so good, you can't eat many, either.
I picked up a free paper at Tim's Foodland, now known to the newcomers as Dan'sMidland Market, and on the front page is the story, "Donut gets Away". Big Moose Lake, New York; the donut Shop sign, a large fiberglass donut was sent from Eagle Bay to Big Moose for reconditioning for the new season, and while there, it "got away" from the workman, rolled down the hill into the Big Moose Lake, started to float away. They ran after it, and caught it in the nick of time, but decided to "get into the donut" for a photo-opp, and sent it to the paper. The donut was not injured. It is now hanging above the entrance to the Donut Shop in Eagle Bay, for all to see, freshly painted.
Just wanted you to know.
