Stomping and Holes

As I take my shower there are little holes in the bath mat. It is as if the giant that lives in the bath tub took his hole punch, and took a few punches out of the mat.  The little rubber dots sprinkle the tub.  They are darling, but stop up the tub guard, and I empty it dutifully, annoyed at this turn of events.

It is the exciting sport of stomping that has hit our home.  Only we stomp in the bath tub, during showers.  He stomps and showers, singing basketball cheers. I can hear it even when I am out in the garage doing laundry,  echoing throughout the house.  I wonder if the neighbors can hear...

Singing in the shower is not news.  Gene Kelly sang in the rain, and danced quite memorably.  We have films.  I can never have movies, or videos of this.  I can just imagine, stomping in the showers.  It is strong, it is loud.  It has totally flattened the rubber bath mat, and punched those suction cups flat.  They now lie, lifeless, on the bottom of the tub.  The mat, full of holes hangs over the edge of the tub, worn and long, maybe quite a bit longer than when new.  I am sure I will not replace it until the stomp craze is over.
