Bright
Some people are not so bright.
Sad thing is they don't know it. Because they are not bright enough....
Colors of the birds and the flowers are dull in the winter, and this time of the year you notice day by day they brighten.

The goldfinch starts to become a neon yellow accented with black, jumpy and flying circles around other yellow males at the feeder.
The house finch turns from pale orange to bright raspberry accented by brown, the female striped brown and darker brown only.
The cardinals are more crisp in colors, but have remained in their uniforms all winter long.
I wonder how aware they are of their splendor. Do they look into the waters of the birdbath and admire themselves? Do they realize the females are adoring their good looks? Or do they just figure they are dressed to the nines whenever?
We do not attribute awareness to the plants or flowers, but what beauty they give us. We get enjoyment watching them grow, from tiny sprouts to full blossoms in our gardens. When flower arrangements arrive we feel loved, comforted, completed, our lives brightened by the knowledge that someone is thinking of us, understands the emptiness within, and is filling it with beauty. Color and Vivacious Brilliance.
Color also comes in sound. I hear it in the song of a bird, the music of a composer, the song of a singer. I hear the color of brilliance in a poem, or read it in a favorite verse. It is not limited to what my eyes receive as light waves. Because it is not only a physical property, it involves how I think and feel about my world.
It is hard to see with the lights on, when we only see with our eyes.
