Mapquest Meets Weslee

I guess school has done its job.  It taught my son how to Mapquest.  He is proficient in the art of finding how to get from spot A to spot B with stops in between.  He can go directly from any address you give him to any other address. He has become a virtual mapping fiend.
Last year we planned our vacation to Upstate New York, and he blasted a map.  He found a motel/hotel exactly halfway there, for our convenience.  It had to be pet friendly, within our budget(under $100.), have a pool(open while we are there I insist), and easy off and on the expressway.  He called for reservations.  He was 10 at the time.  He was furious when he found out the travelers we were with were driving straight through, and stopped nowhere but the destination.  "All that trouble for nothing!"  His exact words.
On our way back, he had the exact location of our stay planned, and instead, the guest driver stopped in a convenience store with night lights on in the parking lot.  We slept for a few hours in the car.  "Not a good night's rest,"  exclaimed my son.  "I will never travel with them again!" He insisted.

This year Jim called with instructions.  "Tell Wes to blast a map."  Jim could find the cabin in the North Woods in his sleep.  I logged Wes on, and he was busy typing in our Cincinnati address then asked, "What's our Eagle Bay address?"  and he typed it in.

Quiet for a long time. Then he shouts, "How do you spell POPEYE?"

After a while he comes to me with a map of Kentucky, Tennessee, and points north.  There are bunches of little teardrops and numbers on it.  It does not look like what I expect it should... the face of a darling dog from the SPCA is on the side. " Look, Mom, I got the dog for Annalisa!"  (Annalisa, sister and my oldest daughter,  rescues dogs, and has a pet search business  http://www.petsearchandrescue.com/about.html)

"Wes, you got the wrong map!  you want New York!  This shows south of Cincinnati, and what are all those spots????"
"No, I found all the Popeye's Chicken Places.  I want to go there to eat.  I wanted to make sure we would find one today or tomorrow.  They don't have any in Pennsylvania or New York.  These are all the locations available.  The road map is here."  He shows me the road map, with the outline of their path in purple.  It is clear he is advanced in his work with Mapquest.
Jim arrives a bit later, and I explain the plan.  "Are you aware Wes has the supper stop planned for Popeye's?"
"Oh really...  I have the GPS somewhere.."
"I don't think you will need it...You have Wes along."
